Using Calories burned calculator
Estimate activity energy as MET x 3.5 x body weight in kg x active minutes / 200.
Adult Compendium presets apply to ages 19-59 and the exact activity described. Choose the nearest exact activity or provide your own MET; activities with different intensities are not combined. Gross calories include resting energy during that time. The extra-above-rest estimate subtracts one standard MET. Population estimates can differ from individual measurements; this is not an exercise prescription.
A worked example
For body weight (kg) = 70, active time (minutes) = 30, activity from the 2024 adult compendium = 17190 - Walking, 2.8 to 3.4 mph, level, moderate pace, firm surface (3.8 MET), your own met value (only for custom activity) = 3.8, estimated gross calories (kcal) = 139.65.
