How to turn 3/10 into a decimal
Divide the top number by the bottom one: 3 ÷ 10. 10 does not go into 3, so write 0 and a decimal point, put a 0 after the 3 and divide:
- 30 ÷ 10 = 3, remainder 0 (3 × 10 = 30). Remainder 0, so the division ends: 3/10 = 0.3
To read it as a percentage, move the decimal point two places to the right: 30%.
