How to turn 1/10 into a decimal
Divide the top number by the bottom one: 1 ÷ 10. 10 does not go into 1, so write 0 and a decimal point, put a 0 after the 1 and divide:
- 10 ÷ 10 = 1, remainder 0 (1 × 10 = 10). Remainder 0, so the division ends: 1/10 = 0.1
To read it as a percentage, move the decimal point two places to the right: 10%.
