How to turn 7/10 into a decimal
Divide the top number by the bottom one: 7 ÷ 10. 10 does not go into 7, so write 0 and a decimal point, put a 0 after the 7 and divide:
- 70 ÷ 10 = 7, remainder 0 (7 × 10 = 70). Remainder 0, so the division ends: 7/10 = 0.7
To read it as a percentage, move the decimal point two places to the right: 70%.
