How this conversion works

The serving multiplier is wanted servings ÷ original servings. Every leading ingredient quantity is multiplied by that ratio; ingredient names and units remain as entered.

Scaling preserves ingredient ratios. It does not change grams to cups, round eggs to whole eggs or assume that baking time scales with servings.

A worked example

Changing 4 servings to 6 gives a multiplier of 1.5. An ingredient listed as 2 cups becomes 3 cups; 1 1/2 cups becomes 2.25 cups.

Before you use the result

One quantity per line. Ranges, package expressions and unmeasured “to taste” lines need manual editing. Check all results, especially leavening, seasoning and indivisible ingredients. Nonzero numeric inputs for these compound calculations are limited to 1e-40 through 1e40.
