Using Rent calculator
Subtract other spending, planned savings and non-rent housing costs from take-home income.
Remaining rent budget = income − expenses − savings − other housing costs. This is your stated budget, not a landlord qualification rule or a recommended income percentage. Negative balances are shown separately.
A worked example
Example inputs: monthly take-home income = 4000, other monthly expenses = 2000, monthly savings target = 500, utilities and housing costs beyond rent = 200. Rent remaining within your budget = 1300.
