Using Water velocity calculator
Mean pipe velocity = volume flow rate ÷ circular cross-sectional area.
Assumes the circular pipe is full. This is mean velocity; it does not model local velocity profiles, pressure losses, or partly filled channels.
A worked example
With volumetric flow (m³/s) = 0.02, internal pipe diameter (meters) = 0.2, the mean flow velocity (m/s) is 0.6366197723675813.
