Using Angular acceleration calculator
Average angular acceleration = (final angular velocity − initial angular velocity) ÷ elapsed time.
Signed velocities must use the same axis and direction convention.
A worked example
With final angular velocity (rad/s) = 12, elapsed time (seconds) = 3, initial angular velocity (rad/s) = 0, the angular acceleration (rad/s²) is 4.
Before you use the result
Signed velocities must use the same axis and direction convention.
Example results for final angular velocity (rad/s)
These examples use Elapsed time (seconds): 3; Initial angular velocity (rad/s): 0. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Final angular velocity (rad/s) | Angular acceleration (rad/s²) |
|---|---|
| 6 | 2 |
| 12 | 4 |
| 24 | 8 |
