Using Terminal velocity calculator
Balance weight against quadratic drag: terminal speed = √(2mg/(density × drag coefficient × area)).
You supply fluid density and a suitable drag coefficient. Assumes constant quadratic drag and negligible buoyancy. Does not model tumbling, changing density, low-Reynolds-number flow or human fall safety.
A worked example
Example inputs: mass (kg) = 1, downward acceleration (m/s²) = 10, fluid density (kg/m³) = 1, drag coefficient = 1, frontal area (m²) = 2. Terminal speed (m/s) = 3.16227766017.

Example results for mass (kg)
These examples use Downward acceleration (m/s²): 10; Fluid density (kg/m³): 1; Drag coefficient: 1; Frontal area (m²): 2. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
