Using Normal force calculator
Normal force on an incline = mass × gravitational acceleration × cos(incline angle).
Assumes no other forces perpendicular to the surface and no perpendicular acceleration. Gravity is your editable assumption.
A worked example
With mass (kg) = 10, incline angle (degrees) = 60, local gravity (m/s²) = 10, the normal force (n) is 50.
Before you use the result
Assumes no other forces perpendicular to the surface and no perpendicular acceleration. Gravity is your editable assumption.
Example results for mass (kg)
These examples use Incline angle (degrees): 60; Local gravity (m/s²): 10. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Mass (kg) | Normal force (N) |
|---|---|
| 5 | 25 |
| 10 | 50 |
| 20 | 100 |
