Using Net force calculator
Add planar force components, then find magnitude √(Fx² + Fy²) and direction atan2(Fy, Fx).
Forces must share one coordinate system and act on the same object. This sums forces, not torques. A zero resultant has no direction.
A worked example
Example inputs: force x-components (n) = 3, 0, matching y-components (n) = 0, 4. Net force magnitude (N) = 5.
Before you use the result
Forces must share one coordinate system and act on the same object. This sums forces, not torques. A zero resultant has no direction.
