Using MAGI calculator
Calculate Marketplace MAGI by adding tax-exempt interest, non-taxable Social Security and excluded foreign income to AGI.
This is the health-insurance Marketplace definition for one person, not the Roth IRA or Medicare definition. Add only amounts excluded from AGI, without double counting. Do not add Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Household eligibility also depends on whose income must be included; this tool does not calculate a subsidy or determine eligibility.
A worked example
For annual adjusted gross income (usd) = 50000, tax-exempt interest (usd) = 500, non-taxable social security benefits (usd) = 2000, excluded foreign income (usd) = 1000, marketplace magi (usd) = 53500.
