How to turn PDF pages into images
Choose the PDF, then the format and the resolution. JPG gives smaller files and suits scans and photos; PNG keeps text and line drawings sharp, with no compression marks, in larger files.
The resolution is how many pixels each inch of the page gets: 150 dpi suits a screen or an email, 300 dpi suits printing. An A4 page comes out at 1240 × 1754 pixels at 150 dpi and 2480 × 3508 at 300 dpi.
Each page is drawn on this device by PDF.js, the PDF reader built into Firefox, and saved as its own image, numbered by its page (report-03.jpg).
Worked example
A 12-page A4 report saved as JPG at 150 dpi gives twelve images of 1240 × 1754 pixels; with 1, 3 typed in the pages box, only those two.
Before you rely on the result
One PDF of up to 200 MB at a time, and up to 300 images in one go. Each image is at most 16 million pixels, so a very large page at 300 dpi comes out at a lower resolution, shown beside it. A PDF locked with a password has to be unlocked first. Nothing is uploaded.
