Using Medication dosage calculator
Calculate volume in mL as prescribed dose divided by stock amount, multiplied by the stock volume.
Arithmetic check for a single, already-prescribed dose with both amounts in milligrams. This does not determine a dose, check suitability, choose dilution or account for potency, salt forms or reconstitution. The numbers are a hypothetical practice problem. Independently verify the order and label with a qualified clinician before administration. No rounding or dose recommendation is applied.
A worked example
For already-prescribed dose (mg) = 250, amount stated on stock label (mg) = 125, stock volume containing that amount (ml) = 5, calculated volume (ml) = 10.

Example results for already-prescribed dose (mg)
These examples use Amount stated on stock label (mg): 125; Stock volume containing that amount (mL): 5. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Already-prescribed dose (mg) | Calculated volume (mL) |
