Using Electric vehicle fuel savings calculator
Energy-cost saving = distance × (gasoline cost per unit distance − electricity cost per unit distance).
Use matching distance units and your actual all-in energy costs. This excludes purchase price, maintenance, insurance and depreciation.
A worked example
With distance traveled = 10000, gasoline cost per distance unit = 0.15, electricity cost per distance unit = 0.05, the energy-cost saving is 1000.
