Using Car lease calculator
Estimate a conventional lease payment from adjusted cost, residual, term and money factor.
Base payment = (capitalized cost − residual)/months + (cost + residual) × money factor. Applies a user-entered tax to the monthly payment only; some jurisdictions tax leases differently. Upfront charges, mileage and disposition fees are excluded. Fixed assumptions only: no taxes, fees, changing returns, guarantees or product eligibility. Amounts share one currency.
A worked example
Example inputs: adjusted capitalized cost = 30000, residual value = 18000, lease months = 36, money factor = 0.002, tax on monthly payment (%) = 0. Monthly lease payment = 429.333333333.
