Higher keeps more detail, lower makes a smaller file.

JPG cannot be see-through, so transparent parts are filled with this color. PNG and WebP keep transparency.

Your images are converted in browser memory. They are never uploaded or saved by this tool. Download saves them to your device. EXIF metadata, including location, is not copied into the new files.

    Why convert WebP to PNG

PNG opens in every image editor and keeps transparency, so it suits a WebP logo, sticker or cut-out that has to go somewhere WebP is not accepted. A PNG is usually larger than the WebP, more so for photos: the sizes before and after show by how much.

    Nothing more is lost

PNG stores the pixels exactly as they come out of the WebP. If the WebP was saved with compression, that loss stays, but saving the PNG again loses nothing more. Animated WebP files are refused rather than cut to one frame.

The new files are made in your browser from your images. Nothing is uploaded, and location and camera details (EXIF) are left out.
