Using Triangle height calculator
Triangle height = twice its area divided by its base.
The returned height is perpendicular to the chosen base. Enter area in squared units corresponding to the base-length unit.
A worked example
With triangle area = 24, base length = 8, the perpendicular height is 6.
Before you use the result
The returned height is perpendicular to the chosen base. Enter area in squared units corresponding to the base-length unit.
Example results for triangle area
These examples use Base length: 8. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Triangle area | Perpendicular height |
|---|---|
| 12 | 3 |
| 24 | 6 |
| 48 | 12 |
