Using Moving box calculator
Boxes = round up(item volume ÷ usable box volume × (1 + extra fraction)).
Use your own packed-volume and usable-capacity estimates. The example is not a measured estimate for a household. Fragile items, box weight limits, irregular shapes and items that cannot share a box may increase the total.
A worked example
For estimated packed item volume (cubic feet) = 120, usable volume per box (cubic feet) = 3, extra boxes (%) = 10, boxes = 44.
