Using Gravel calculator
Loose material volume = area × depth × (1 + allowance ÷ 100). Estimated mass = volume × supplied bulk density.
Area and depth must use matching length units. Density is an editable example, not a claim about a material. Obtain bulk density from your supplier and allow for compaction separately.
A worked example
With area = 20, depth = 0.1, bulk density (mass per cubic unit) = 1600, extra allowance (%) = 10, the material volume is 2.2.
