Merge PDF files

Join several PDFs into one, in the order you choose, with only the pages you need.

Privacy: runs in your browser

This tool processes your input in this browser. Inputs and results are excluded from analytics. Recent tools save tool names, visit counts and last-visit times. Favorites store only tool names. Draft saving is optional and stays on this device; delete saved text with the draft controls. Loading text from a URL is optional and contacts that server; its URL and your IP address are visible to the server. When a button sends your result to another tool, it waits in this tab until that tool opens it, for up to a minute, and is then deleted.

Copy link includes the inputs you choose to share in the address. Anyone with that link can reopen them. Files and generated results are excluded. Password and key tools share settings only.

Or drop them here. They are read on this device and never uploaded.

Add two or more PDFs. They are joined from top to bottom: move a file up or down to change the order, and type pages such as 1-3, 5 to take only those.

    Sharing and starting over

A copied link includes what you entered and your settings, so anyone with it can see them. Leave private text out. Files and results are not included; random draws are made again.

Start over puts the tool back to its starting values and closes any open file or device. Drafts you saved stay on this device until you delete them.

    How to merge PDF files

Choose the PDFs or drop them on the box. Each file shows its page count; move it up or down to set the order, and type pages such as 1-3, 5 to take only those. Leave the pages box empty to take the whole file.

The pages are copied as they are, with their text, pictures and page size, so a scan stays a scan and text you can search stays searchable. Bookmarks are not carried into the new file, and a fillable form may lose its fields, so fill in and save a form before merging it.

    Worked example

Merging a 2-page letter and a 3-page form gives a 5-page PDF: pages 1–2 from the letter, then pages 3–5 from the form. Typing 2 in the letter’s pages box takes only its second page, for a 4-page file.

Before you rely on the result

Up to 60 files and 400 MB in all, each up to 200 MB; a phone may run out of memory sooner. A PDF locked with a password has to be unlocked first. The files are read and joined on this device; nothing is uploaded.
