Using Impulse calculator
Impulse = average net force × time interval.
Use the average force over the interval along one axis. A negative impulse points opposite the chosen positive direction.
A worked example
With average net force (n) = 12, time interval (s) = 0.5, the impulse (n·s) is 6.
Before you use the result
Use the average force over the interval along one axis. A negative impulse points opposite the chosen positive direction.
Example results for average net force (n)
These examples use Time interval (s): 0.5. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Average net force (N) | Impulse (N·s) |
|---|---|
| 6 | 3 |
| 12 | 6 |
| 24 | 12 |
