Using Displacement calculator
Displacement = initial velocity × time + ½ × acceleration × time².
Assumes constant acceleration along one axis. A negative result means displacement opposite to the positive axis.
A worked example
With initial velocity (m/s) = 10, elapsed time (seconds) = 5, constant acceleration (m/s²) = 2, the displacement (m) is 75.
Before you use the result
Assumes constant acceleration along one axis. A negative result means displacement opposite to the positive axis.
Example results for initial velocity (m/s)
These examples use Elapsed time (seconds): 5; Constant acceleration (m/s²): 2. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Initial velocity (m/s) | Displacement (m) |
|---|---|
| 5 | 50 |
| 10 | 75 |
| 20 | 125 |
