How to cite a website in APA
Start with the page author, publication date, page title and URL. Use the website source type, then check the reference against your assignment requirements.
Copy the details from the page you used
Choose Website in the APA generator. Enter a person as family name, given name; separate multiple people with semicolons. If an organization is the author, enter its full name without reversing it.
Enter the individual page title and its complete address, rather than the title and address of a different page on the same website. The generator formats what you enter; it does not fetch the source or discover its author.
Do not invent a publication date
Leave the publication year blank if you cannot find it. The Accessed field describes when you opened the page; it is separate from the publication year.
This generator accepts a publication year, not a full publication month and day. If the source and your style instructions require the fuller date, add it in the document after copying. A generated reference still needs this check.
Finish the reference in your document
Copy Reference for the source list and In-text citation for a citation within the text. Apply the italics and indentation required by your instructions in the document editor: copying plain text does not preserve them.
A quotation can also need a page number or another locator. This single-source tool does not add quotation locators or check the surrounding passage.
