Using Dog water intake calculator
Multiply body weight by the veterinary reference range of about 44-66 mL/kg for a thermoneutral environment.
This rough total-water range includes water in food. Heat, exercise, diet and health change needs. Keep fresh water freely available; do not ration water to this estimate. Illness, dehydration or a marked change in drinking needs veterinary assessment. This is not an IV-fluid calculation.
A worked example
For healthy adult dog weight (kg) = 10, approximate lower daily total (ml) = 440.
