Using Date difference calculator

The ordinary gap is end minus start. Including both dates adds one day. Calendar years and months use the earlier date as the anchor, shortening a month-end date only when the target month is shorter. Reversed dates keep a positive gap and a clear direction.

A worked example

February 28 to March 1, 2024 is 2 days because February has a leap day. Counting both dates gives 3 days.

Before you use the result

Uses the Gregorian calendar for all years 0001–9999. These are calendar days, not elapsed 24-hour periods across a daylight-saving change. Calendar gaps always exclude the end date.
