Using Cake calculator
Scale a round-pan recipe by the ratio of the two cylindrical batter volumes.
Use internal pan diameters and intended batter depth in one unit. Multiply ingredient quantities by the ratio. Portion count assumes unchanged portion volume. This does not determine baking time, safe doneness, pan fill limits, leavening changes or servings for a tiered cake.
A worked example
Example inputs: original round pan diameter = 8, new round pan diameter = 10, original batter depth = 2, new batter depth = 2, original servings = 12. Recipe volume multiplier = 1.5625.
Before you use the result

Example results for original round pan diameter
These examples use New round pan diameter: 10; Original batter depth: 2; New batter depth: 2; Original servings: 12. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Original round pan diameter | Recipe volume multiplier |
|---|---|
| 4 | 6.25 |
| 8 | 1.5625 |
| 16 | 0.390625 |
