Using Army body fat calculator
Army Directive 2026-13 uses waist-to-height ratio instead of the former body-fat tape formula. Divide recorded waist by recorded height and truncate to three decimals.
This page implements the current WHtR calculation, not a body-fat percentage. Use measurements recorded under Army procedures. A recorded ratio below 0.550 meets the numerical threshold; 0.550 does not. This is an unofficial arithmetic check, not an official assessment, confirmation test or exemption decision. Policy checked 29 September 2026.
A worked example
For recorded navel waist (inches) = 35, recorded height (inches) = 70, recorded whtr = 0.500.
