Using Text truncator
Set the maximum number of visible characters and choose an ending such as an ellipsis. The ending is included in the limit, so the copied result fits the length you selected. Text already within the limit stays unchanged.
The whole-word option removes a partly cut final word. If the first word cannot fit, the result may contain only the ending. Character mode uses all available space while keeping Unicode grapheme clusters intact.
A worked example
With a limit of 6 and the default ellipsis, “Hello world” becomes “Hello…”. The ellipsis occupies one of the six visible characters.
Before you use the result
This is a grapheme limit, not a byte limit or a platform-specific post limit. Whole-word mode recognizes whitespace boundaries; languages without spaces may need character mode. Original text is not overwritten.
