Tap tempo BPM counter processes your input in this browser. Inputs and results are excluded from analytics. Recent tools save tool names, visit counts and last-visit times. Saved tools store only their names. Draft saving is optional and stays on this device; delete saved text with the draft controls. Loading text from a URL is optional and contacts that server; its URL and your IP address are visible to the server. An optional “Use in” action keeps a handoff in this tab. The next tool removes it on arrival and ignores it if more than a minute has passed.

Using the tap tempo bpm counter

After two taps, the tempo is calculated from the elapsed time between taps. Up to the latest sixteen intervals are averaged. A gap longer than five seconds begins a fresh measurement; accidental taps less than 80 milliseconds apart are ignored.

A worked example

Taps spaced half a second apart give 120 BPM. Reset clears the previous taps before you measure another section.

Before you use the result

The estimate follows your tapping. It does not listen to or analyze audio, and uneven rhythms can make an average misleading.
