Using Concrete steps calculator
Calculate a solid stack of rectangular concrete steps: volume = width × rise × tread × n(n + 1)/2.
Each step adds one tread depth and one rise. Assumes solid fill to a flat base, with no landing, hollow core, reinforcement displacement or allowance. Dimensions share one unit.
A worked example
Example inputs: number of equal steps = 3, rise per step = 0.2, tread depth = 0.3, stair width = 1. Solid concrete volume = 0.36.
Before you use the result
Each step adds one tread depth and one rise. Assumes solid fill to a flat base, with no landing, hollow core, reinforcement displacement or allowance. Dimensions share one unit.
Example results for number of equal steps
These examples use Rise per step: 0.2; Tread depth: 0.3; Stair width: 1. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Number of equal steps | Solid concrete volume |
|---|---|
| 3 | 0.36 |
| 6 | 1.26 |
