Using Calculate CAGR
CAGR = ((ending value ÷ starting value)^(1 ÷ years) − 1) × 100.
This smooths a single initial and final value into an annual rate. Intermediate deposits and withdrawals invalidate the simple comparison.
A worked example
With starting value = 1000, ending value = 1210, years = 2, the compound annual growth rate (%) is 10.
