Add text to GIF processes your input in this browser. Inputs and results are excluded from analytics. Recent tools save tool names, visit counts and last-visit times. Saved tools store only their names. Draft saving is optional and stays on this device; delete saved text with the draft controls. Loading text from a URL is optional and contacts that server; its URL and your IP address are visible to the server. An optional “Use in” action keeps a handoff in this tab. The next tool removes it on arrival and ignores it if more than a minute has passed.

Copy link includes the inputs you choose to share in the address. Anyone with that link can reopen them. Files and generated results are excluded. Password and key tools share settings only.

Keep the animation and add your words

Choose a GIF, enter one line of text and choose Add text. The caption is drawn on every frame with a black outline. Play preview starts the saved animation when you want it.

A worked example

The example has two half-second frames. Adding a caption keeps both frames and its one-second pass.

Before you use the result

Animated ImageDecoder support is required. Up to 200 frames, 2048 pixels per side, 12 million total frame pixels and a 15 MB input. Complex images use a web-safe palette; partial transparency becomes transparent or opaque. Frame delays below 20 milliseconds become 20 milliseconds. Loop metadata is kept; the optional preview repeats until paused. The simple encoder may increase file size.
