Compare the two edges separately

Enter the current and proposed nominal wheel widths in inches and offsets in millimeters. Half of the width change moves each edge; the offset change moves the wheel inward or outward. Positive offset moves the mounting face toward the outer side of the wheel.

A worked example

Changing from 7 inches at +35 mm to 8 inches at +45 mm moves the inner edge 22.7 mm toward the suspension and the outer edge 2.7 mm farther out.

Before you use the result

Nominal widths are measured between bead seats. These differences do not include flange shape, tire width, diameter, brake clearance, spacers or suspension travel. They cannot establish that a wheel fits a vehicle.
