Using Percent yield calculator
Calculate percent yield = actual product amount ÷ theoretical product amount × 100.
Both amounts must refer to the same product and use the same unit. Values over 100% are displayed, not silently capped; they can reflect impurities, measurement error or inconsistent assumptions.
A worked example
Example inputs: actual product amount = 8, theoretical product amount = 10. Percent yield = 80.
Before you use the result
Both amounts must refer to the same product and use the same unit. Values over 100% are displayed, not silently capped; they can reflect impurities, measurement error or inconsistent assumptions.
Example results for actual product amount
These examples use Theoretical product amount: 10. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Actual product amount | Percent yield |
|---|---|
| 4 | 40 |
| 8 | 80 |
| 16 | 160 |
