How it works
Multiply the amount in moles by the molar mass in grams per mole: 0.5 mol × 58.44 g/mol = 29.22 g.
Type the formula and the molar mass is added up from CIAAW standard atomic weights, or enter a known molar mass. For a mixture, an isotope-specific sample or an impure reagent, enter the molar mass that fits your sample.
Worked example
0.5 mol of table salt (NaCl, 58.44 g/mol) is 29.22 g: 0.5 × 58.44 = 29.22.
How the mass changes with amount
Other inputs keep their starting values: Molar mass (g/mol): 58.44. Examples only, not recommendations.
| Amount (mol) | Mass (g) |
|---|---|
| 0.25 | 14.61 |
| 0.5 | 29.22 |
| 1 | 58.44 |
