Using Leap year calculator

A Gregorian year is leap if divisible by 4, except century years must also be divisible by 400. The result explains the rule that applies to the year you entered.

A worked example

2000 is a leap year because it is divisible by 400. 1900 is not, even though it is divisible by 4.
