How to convert units without rounding too early

Change the display after calculating
Enter the original measurement, choose its unit and choose the target unit. The converter performs the calculation before applying the selected significant digits to the displayed result.
If you chain several conversions by copying rounded results, the rounding can accumulate. Convert directly from the original measurement when the needed units are available.
Temperature needs more than a scale factor
An absolute temperature and a temperature difference are different tasks. The temperature converter applies the offsets for Celsius and Fahrenheit. A change of one Celsius degree corresponds to a change of 1.8 Fahrenheit degrees, without an offset.
For example, 20 °C is 68 °F as an absolute temperature. A rise of 20 °C is a rise of 36 °F. Choose a temperature-difference tool or do the scale-only calculation for the second task.
A unit name can hide a choice
The weight converter distinguishes ordinary ounces from troy ounces and US short tons from UK long tons. The length converter uses the international foot, not the retired US survey foot. Read the selected unit label before copying the number.
