Using the duplicate file photo finder
Files with the same length and SHA-256 digest are grouped together. Names and dates do not decide whether files match. The result lists duplicate groups so you can review your own copies.
A worked example
The example files “copy-a.txt” and “copy-b.txt” both contain the word octopus, so they appear in one duplicate group.
Before you use the result
This finds identical files, not visually similar photos. Different metadata or recompression changes the file bytes. Nothing is deleted. Choose up to 100 files totaling no more than 100 MB.
