Using Camera data rate calculator
Calculate raw video payload = width × height × frames per second × bits per pixel.
This is uncompressed active-picture data only. It excludes blanking, audio and transport overhead; it cannot predict H.264, H.265 or other compressed camera storage.
A worked example
Example inputs: frame width (pixels) = 1920, frame height (pixels) = 1080, frames per second = 30, bits per pixel = 24. Uncompressed video rate (Mbps) = 1492.992.

Example results for frame width (pixels)
These examples use Frame height (pixels): 1080; Frames per second: 30; Bits per pixel: 24. They are reference calculations, not recommended settings.
| Frame width (pixels) | Uncompressed video rate (Mbps) |
|---|---|
| 960 | 746.496 |
| 1920 | 1492.992 |
| 3840 | 2985.984 |
