Using the audio network calculator
Multiply sample rate by bit depth and channel count to get the uncompressed payload bitrate. The overhead allowance scales that payload; it does not model any particular network protocol or packet size.
A worked example
48,000 samples per second × 24 bits × 2 channels equals 2,304,000 bits per second, or 2.304 Mbps before overhead.
Before you use the result
No codec compression, network redundancy or protocol-specific headers are assumed. Confirm capacity and headroom against your actual network and equipment.
