Formula and assumptions

Each column is one decimal place. An engaged upper bead contributes five units of that place; each engaged lower bead contributes one. The lower control cycles zero to four beads; upper toggles five. Carrying between columns is a manual arithmetic step, not automatic.

Automatic precision shows numbers to 12 significant digits. Thousands separators such as 1,000 are accepted; use a dot for decimals.
